Couples Counseling

Couples today experience many pressures. These pressures can cause stress and isolation. For example, you may find yourselves busy or exhausted by work, children, school or any number of matters which can have a negative impact on your lives. Couples begin to build emotional barriers, lose touch with one another, and generally stop communicating.

Marriage or Couples counseling can benefit you or your partner if you are dealing with any of these issues or situations that can cause stress in a couple's relationship:

Marriage or Couples Counseling help you understand and resolve these and other conflicts. Counseling and therapy help couples open pathways to discovery. Misconceptions about Couples Counseling

Many couples think about the possibility of going to couples' counseling or marriage counseling, however there is likely to be one partner who fears sharing details about their relationship with a therapist. Let me set your mind at ease.

Anecdotal Therapy Story

All names and stories are fictional.

Mary Jane and her husband were married in the mid 20's and with great joy were soon to become the parents of a baby boy. Mary Jane couldn't have been happier, but there they were, she and her husband working and staying up nights with the baby. They used to have time for each other and now the baby required all their attention. Before long, their frustrations overwhelmed them and Mary Jane and her husband began fighting, each finding fault with the other. Before they realized it, their love for one another seemed exhausted. They wanted help but didn't know where to turn. This is one of the more difficult hurdles a couple can face, but it is one which a therapist's skills can help you resolve.
