Anecdotal Therapy Story
All names and stories are fictional.Carol and Paul have been married for ten years, most of them spent under the stress and strain of substance abuse. Paul's drinking was a source of pain for everyone. Carol was tired of explaining Paul's behaviors to the children. It had become a full-time job, keeping everyone, including friends, "in the dark" about all their problems. Whenever Carol confronted Paul about his drinking, he denied it. Their children were distressed, but as long as Carol felt so helpless, what was to be done? While under the influence, Paul was in a serious car accident. Paul may have quit drinking, but he and his family were still in difficulty. Carol wanted them to solve their problems, but how would they find a way out?
